HE-AdWords - Android App

Quick Tutorial and Background

The HE AdWords App for Android allows you to manage multiple AdWords accounts from your mobile Android phone. I developed this application for myself since I couldn't find any in the Android Market and decided to make it freely available to others with the help from the Google AdWords API Team.

I've built several businesses which would not have been possible without the help of PPC advertising and assume there are many, many other business which were also built using this platform so I thought I would return the favor with this application.

The source code will be made available soon to any other developers who would like to enhance or expand so we can all benefit and continue to grow our businesses. Core functionality:

Manage multiple AdWords accounts
View statistics, edit or add Campaigns, AdGroups, Keywords and Ads

Basic navigation:

Click a desired Campaign to see a list of AdGroups;
Click a desired AdGroup to see a list of Keywords or Ads;
To back out, use your phones Back button;
To change accounts click the phones Menu button from any screen, then click on Switch Account;

Basic Editing:

Click and hold to bring up an edit menu for any desired Campaign, AdGroup, Keyword or Ad.

Basic Create Function:

When on the desired page such as Campaign, click the phones Menu button to bring up the Create Campaign button. The same holds true for the Keywords, AdGroups and Ad pages.

Navigation for HE AdWords works just like your AdWords account hierarchy.

Account Page-
Campaign Page-
AdGroups Page-
Ads Page
Keywords Page

To move forwards, click on your targe (i.e. click once on the desired Campaign from the Campaign page to see a list of AdGroups in the AdGroup page, Click once on the desired AdGroup to see either a list of Ads or Keywords for that AdGroup.

To move back, simply press your phones Back button.

Example:

To Move from the Campaign page to an AdGroup page:

Below is a Campaign page, click the desired Campaign to see a list of AdGroups associated with the Campaign. To move back to the Campaign page, use your phones Back button.

How to Filter Results and Change Date Ranges

Click the Filter button in the upper right hand corner of the screen to display the Status and Date Range filters. Click to make adjustments.

How to Edit a Text Ad

Navigate to the Text Ad page from the AdGroups page where you see a list of your AdGroups, click on an add group to display the first screen below then click on Go To Text Ad.
Click and hold the Text Ad you would like to edit to pause, edit or delete your ad.

How to Create a New Text Add

Navigate to the Text Ad page from the AdGroups page where you see a list of your AdGroups, click on an add group to display the first screen below then click on Go To Text Ad. From the Text Ad page click your phones Menu Button and select Create Text Ad.

How to Edit a Keyword

Navigate to the Keyword page where you see a list of your keywords. Click and hold on one of the Keywords to display the screens below where you can pause, delete or edit your Keyword. Only use the Destination URL if you want to overwrite your AdGroup settings.
